“Art is a lie that makes us realize truth.” - Pablo Picasso

Art has the power to change people’s thoughts, feelings, and how they perceive things. Art across time has proven to have a significant effect on societies by making an impact on how people see themselves and the world around them.
Art can be recognized as a form of communication. It’s unique in that instead of communicating with words, messages are instead forwarded through images. This is essential to communicate across different parts of the world and even generations because art is universal while language is by region. Two people may not be able to comprehend each other when trying to converse, but when the two look at the same painting, for example, they’ll be able to share an understanding and perhaps even experience similar impacts on their brains.
Additionally, art is a connector that helps piece together the large and complex puzzle that makes up society. It allows humans to relate and bond more closely than whatever they could achieve with just words. In fact, art has been shown to commonly influence social revolutions. Some include the Feminist art movement for women’s rights and the Futurism movement for modern progressiveness.
Art has the power to change the way we view the world around us and how we wish to go about our everyday lives. Its ability to affiliate with our emotions and impact how we feel is powerful. Art may not seem like much at times, but it truly is the key to a better society.
