Origami

Origami is known as paper folding to make 2-D or 3D dimensional figures. This name originates from oru (to fold), and kami (paper) from Japanese origins. In fact, the iconic figure of origami paper art is the bird, like a crane. It consists of Paper folding to create different designs. Most Japanese children learn the construction of the bird.

In Europe, paper folding evolved from napkin folding. This practice of napkin folding made its way into schools. Paper folding became a part of children’s curriculums, and influenced the spread of the origami art form to other countries.

Like Europe, Akira Yoshizawa also spread

origami to others. He learned origami as a

child and taught new employees in the

factory. He spent the rest of his life spreading ideas of origami techniques to the rest of the world.

Now Origami is used to create little different characters using art, engineering, and our creative minds. Origami uses an arrangement of colors, textures, and shapes. Some examples of origami include bunnies, rabbits, animals, flowers, etc.
