How to bring ART into your life

“The artist's world is limitless. It can be found anywhere, far from where he lives or a few feet away. It is always on his doorstep.” - Paul Strand

Whether it be a famous sculpture in a museum or chalk drawing on the sidewalk, it still has the power to evoke feelings within yourself you didn’t know capable, provide a sense of relief from the pressure of the outside world, and even encourage personal growth. Art is so influential and the multitude of places it can be found is absolutely spectacular. So, don’t be afraid to bring a little art into your life or even look for it in places you may have never noticed.

One way you can bring art into your life is by pursuing it in your free time. You can take even just fifteen minutes every day to perhaps draw a picture, sing a song, or even write down your thoughts. If you feel like diving deeper, don’t be afraid to get out your brushes and canvas or go to a pottery class. Feel free to explore all the possibilities of art until you find what you enjoy the most. Keep in mind that you don’t have to be well-skilled to do these things. Even coloring in a coloring book can do just the trick. Just think: you’ll never know unless you try. Not only that, but taking this time to try out art-related activities will show to be extremely beneficial for your mental health and your life as a whole.

Another way you can bring art into your life is by surrounding yourself with it everywhere you go. Consider investing in some nice paintings or sculptures for your house. Find some pieces that you can connect to or make you feel a sense of calmness wash over you whenever you look at them. This way, on even the most stressful day, you can walk passed the piece and with just a glimpse of it, feel even just a little bit better. You don’t have to limit yourself to just decorations in your house of course. You can also keep a sculpture on your desk at work, spice up your locker with stickers and pictures, or decorate your phone case and be able to carry the artwork with you everywhere you go.

No matter how you decide to bring art into your life, be open to trying new things and getting outside of your comfort zone. The benefits will be so worth it as you learn to connect with yourself, your emotions, and an understanding of life itself. Good luck and have fun!
