WHAT IS ART
The concept of “Art'' has no solid definition, but varies depending on one’s opinion. Art is well-known as a diverse range of human activities involving creative imagination to express an artwork’s true beauty, power, ideas, and skills. Oftentimes, Art is visualized through the interaction of its principles and elements, both of which are extremely important to make an individual’s art piece one-of-a-kind! According to https://courses.lumenlearning.com/boundless-arthistory/chapter/what-is-art/, “The principles of art include movement, unity, harmony, variety, balance, contrast, proportion, and pattern. The elements include texture, form, space, shape, colour, value, and line.” Art’s unique principles and elements set aside their differences and come together to help an artist establish a meaningful work of art.
ART’S SIGNIFICANCE
Let’s dive deeper into what makes Art significant!
The significance of Art is its ability to convey power. Art’s power has an influence on cultures, politics, and society. The next time you see a piece of artwork and it makes you feel emotions that question your interaction with it, only then will you realize the true power Art can have on a human-being. Deep within your core, this interaction you made with this art piece gives the power to help you make a real life implication, to what this art piece has “showed you.” Art is significant, in terms of its societal impact, because it touches the hearts of people. The aspects of “Art” hold significance, on its own, because it has the power to reinterpret the making of life, through the lens of people. Art’s diversity allows society to view a variety of perspectives, to look at Art in a way that makes them acknowledge artists. Art’s contribution to allowing individuals to change their ways of thinking defines its significance. Let alone Art creates a new understanding of life and gifts individuals with the experience of improving their perceptions of the world and its beauty. Art’s significance is its power!
